Agri Cape Week 2009
The successful concept – The Agri Mega Week in Bredasdorp, that focuses on the grain, dairy and livestock sectors – are continued by means of the Agri Cape Week in Paarl, focussing on the fruit, wine and vegetable industries of agriculture.
Though we attract a variety of visitors tot this event, we primarily focus on the agricultural producer (commercial and emerging), farm workers, agri-businesses and other agricultural stakeholders. The programme, which focuses on information, new technology and debate, lead to great interaction and ensures that members of the focus groups attend this event.

- Deciduous Fruit Exporting Producer’s workshop for DFPT members with Cees Bruggemans as the
- guest speaker;
- VinPro information day for wine and grape producers from the Western Cape on 17/04 – The
- theme is climate change;
- An Agri BEE workshop for leading producers presented by the Departments of Economic
- Development and Agriculture;
- Conference for Emerging Farmers and USAAA’s Annual General Meeting
- An Information workshop for farm workers by SAFWA;
- An Information session for producers regarding water supply in the Western Cape, in
- conjunction with the ARC;
- A Wine tasting;
- An Agri-debate with delegates from Agricultural Associations in the Western Cape, presented by
- Freek Robinson with a panel consisting out of leaders in organised agriculture and Derek
- Hanekom from government.
- A Prima Rugby match between Boland Agricultural High School and a strong opponent presented
- with the Boland Agricultural school’s “Old Boys” – a big attraction for producers from the region
- and “old boys” from the Boland Agricultural High School.
